My name is Ansley Ford. I am a mother, a teacher, a nurturer and a lover of all creatures. I have a passion for sharing nature with children. Here is my story: I grew up sharing my roots between Alaska and Montana. That meant lots of time playing outside in the woods- one of my earliest memories is of holding an old spoon and stirring dirt under a big spruce tree in my backyard woods. My early experiences shaped me into who I am today. I grew up to be an elementary school teacher and environmental educator. I taught in the public school setting for twelve years before having children of my own.
My husband, Rob, and I have two children- a girl and a boy. I chose to stay home with our children and began doing home preschool with the children of friends and neighbors. Those years taught me to slow down and see the world through a child’s eyes again, to feel the wonder of all the little things adults may take for granted: jumping in puddles, climbing trees, catching snowflakes on your tongue, throwing rocks in the lake.
Childhood is such a magical time. My mission in life became sharing the magic and wonder of this beautiful world with children.
